Oakville writer Morteza Abdolalian (Mori) has published his first book. Written in English and Farsi he shares his perspective, emotions and ideas to a wide audience. By making his experiences both human and approachable, he has added to the richness of our cultural and literary community.
Morteza Abdolalian is a journalist, blogger, human rights advocate, and board member of Canadian Journalists For Free Expression (CJFE). He has participated in projects with Pen Canada and other writers groups. He has appeared on Canadian radio and television, and in newspapers and magazines.

Mori came from a different culture, cultures actually, than the rest of us. Yet through his sharing we could understand, and by sharing his understanding he made us and our writing richer.This is what poetry is for.
His poetry explores life in Canada from his unique perspective, his love of language and its power to express experience shows through as observes the world around him.

His work goes beyond his Canadian experiences. Mori has traveled extensively, and lived in Iran, The Philippines and Japan. His writing shares these experiences in a way that makes it both human and approachable.

In a surprise moments
The wave that slammed on my eyes
